1. i love my new roommate!!

2. i can't wait for basketball season to be over so we can actually be in the room at the same time and she's not always on the road to... somewhere

3. i just finished my first short story, and it's weird. we'll see how workshopping goes. if you want to read it, drop me a line and i'll email it to you.

4. why HAVEN'T we discussed lowering the drinking age again? i mean seriously! i just read an oped piece on the red and black website (UGA's paper) about that, and the guy was right. there are these 3 years where kids just bounce around without parental guidance but they're still illegal, and schools and everyone sends conflicting messages. at UGA, for example, if you get caught with alcohol underage, you go to jail. period. YET they also tell everyone how to drink responsibly and what alcohol does to you with each drink, etc etc. like 'we're going to throw you in jail, but you'll do it anyways, so here you go.' it's not cool at all. i really do think that lowering the age would help with this conflicting message. then again, i like to drink alcohol. but seriously.. i live on a dry campus, in a DRY COUNTY and i still drink. putnam county is weird about it all. we can't have any straight bars, they have to serve food at some point during the day, including the clubs like cotton eyed joes and the factory. my friend adam is a DJ and is being courted by a guy about to open a new club here and he was telling me about how strict they are about liquor licenses in putnam county. it's pretty ridiculous. someone's even bought up the license for hooters so that we'll never get one here. we do have a toots coming in though. it's just very strict here... and this is totally off my subject about lowering the drinking age, but whatever.

6. i applied for a job as a hostess at nick's yesterday, i hope i get it! i need a job.

7. i'm applying for mortar board, so i'm going to volunteer at the animal shelter today i hope (we'll see)

8. my friend adam (different from above) is setting me up with some guy... i'm supposed to meet him thursday. he told me to come by the house... not sure what the house is, but ok. we talked on the phone briefly and he called me megan at the end... i'll have to chat with adam about that! ;D

9. i told the previous guy "if you like me, act like it!" and i haven't heard from him after he said he'd have to think about what he was going to do. i wish he'd just call, i really liked him a lot. mom said be prepared to wait weeks and be prepared that he may not do anything ever. it's just still hard. at least there's nothing else i can do now.

time to get ready for french phonetics. still wearing clothes from aerobics class... probably not going to change.
